Shirley Chang
Shirley Chang is a community advocate and organizer dedicated to utilizing her lived experience as a first generation Guatemalan-American, queer person of color, and college student to expose and disrupt social systems that abuse her own and other marginalized communities. Shirley recognizes and values the importance of investing in relationships and centers the community in her life and work.
Shirley’s unique experience continues to empower her professionally. She excels in various industries and positions including: Social Impact, Community Relations, Victims Advocacy, and Shelter Care. Shirley has held positions and been an insightful team member within organizations such as: The Center for Women & Children in Crisis, Utah County Family Justice Center, Food & Care Coalition, UVU Center for Social Impact, and more.
Shirley Chang brings an impressive skill set to everything she’s involved in. From relationship building and project coordination, to event planning and equity-centered design thinking, Shirley is an intuitive and high-performing team player and leader.
Shirley is passionate about bringing connectivity and happiness to transracial adoptees and their parents. She is also fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
