Karlee Crowther

Karlee Crowther was born and raised in Utah. Adopted at birth, she grew up the youngest of three children in a multi-racial home in Salt Lake County. Having lived the experience herself, Karlee is passionate about the mission behind Raising Me. She feels grateful for the opportunity to help foster an educated and empowered community that will raise strong and confident children of color with awareness and love.

Karlee excells in many areas including theater, choir, and leadership. She served as the Theater President of Granger High School from 2014-2015. Karlee recognizes that her experience in the performing arts program supported the development of her social and emotional skills, grew her confidence, and provided her a large community of friends. She is excited to incorporate her artistic knowledge and skill to enhance this community.

For the past eight years, Karlee has worked in childcare as a behavior technician and private nanny. She has hands-on experience with kids of all ages and levels of ability. She has worked alongside and absolutely loved her time with families of all backgrounds and structures, including: multi-racial, single parent, LGBTQ, immigrant, foster, and adoptive families. Providing a safe, inclusive, accepting, and accessible environment to children and families alike is high on her priority list.

Currently, Karlee has a fire for many areas of interest. When she’s not soaking up her time working with children, she stays busy making and performing music with friends, modeling for local businesses, training at the gym, and creative writing.

Karlee adds, “I feel honored to play a role in building a community that provides access to resources that my family and I could have greatly benefitted from while my loving and well-intentioned parents were raising me.
